About Kyle

Since 2019, I have tirelessly chased my dream of working in media. From 2020-2023, I was the news and sports editor of my school paper at Seattle Pacific University. I uncovered a scandal that changed the University and brought LGBTQIA+ rights onto center stage. I also grew the sports section in new and innovative ways, collaborating with the athletic department and the school radio station to get an up-close look at athletes. In 2022, I broadcasted for a minor-league baseball team, the Duluth Huskies, earning the opportunity to call games on ESPN+. In 2023, I worked in media relations for The Seattle Mariners' High-A affiliate, the Everett AquaSox, where I grew their social media presence and wrote game stories and player profiles for their website. During the 2024 baseball season, I was a Broadcast Production Assistant for the Minnesota Twins, where I played an integral part in putting together radio broadcasts for all 162 Twins games. All this experience has led me to where I am now, a freelance broadcaster/announcer in the Bay Area for Santa Clara, Saint Mary's, and Stanford, as well as a plethora of Division two institutions. I also host the A's late-night podcast "A's All Night."

My Story

I have always loved storytelling. When I was five years old, I used to mute Giants games and broadcast the TV images to my parents with my toy ESPN mic. I knew from my first conscious moments that I wanted to work in media as a storyteller.

I committed to Seattle Pacific University on a cross-country and Track scholarship, but after I broke my foot on a run in May of 2020, I realized that it was time to move into the next phase of my life and career. Before my Sophomore year, I became news editor of my school paper, The Falcon, where I wrote hard-hitting stories and managed a staff of six writers, covering the COVID crisis on campus and a major scandal involving a professor who was denied employment at the school because of his sexuality.

After the craziness of 2020, I used my 2021 summer to pursue a dream of working in baseball. I became the official scorekeeper for the Modesto Nuts and used my off days to mock broadcast games from the wives and girlfriends section. I sent these tapes to over 100 teams all over the country before getting hired to be a broadcaster for the Duluth Huskies in the Northwoods League.

During my senior year of college, I served as sports editor of The Falcon and created unprecedented relationships with the SPU athletic department and professional teams like the Mariners, Sounders and Kraken. It was this work that landed me the opportunity to do media relations for the Everett AquaSox.

After the 2023 season ended, I packed up all my things and moved back to California, where I worked at a running shoe store during the day and sent out dozens of resumes a night. This hustle landed me my 2024 position as a Broadcast Production Assistant with the Minnesota Twins. So I told my Mom I made the big leagues and packed up all my things again, and moved across the country.

This experience taught me so much about life, baseball, and broadcasting. I took my lessons from my summer in Minnesota, moved back to California, and began reaching out to every NCAA institution I could get an email for. This led me to building a thriving living as a freelance broadcaster/announcer, doing games for Stanford, Santa Clara, and Saint Mary's, as well as a plethora of division 2 schools in the area. My MLB experience also earned the opportunity to host "A's All Night," the Athletics' late-night podcast that airs after every home game.
